Annual Student Art Exhibition
The 62nd Annual Student Art Exhibition is a community exhibition for all current students to enter who are enrolled in art classes at Bridgewater State University during the 2025 - 2026 academic year. This year's exhibition will be held at the Art Center and the Wallace L. Anderson Gallery from April 10 to April 22, open Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. An opening celebration will be held on Thursday, April 9, 4:00 to 7:00 PM, with an awards ceremony at 5:00 PM.
Jurors Review Panel consists of Art and Art History Department Faculty and Staff
Eligibility
BSU Students enrolled in art courses may submit up to 3 original artworks. (A tryptic and dyptic count as a single work)
Accepted media includes but is not limited to: Animation, Book Arts, Ceramics, Drawing, Fiber Arts, Graphic Design, Jewelry, Metals, Mixed Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Video
Submissions
Artwork can be dropped off at Art Center and the Wallace L. Anderson Art Gallery, March 30th to April 1st, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Artists must sign an Exhibitor Agreement and Drop off Form at time of drop off. All work must be in compliance with the category preparation guidelines and ready for installation.
Preparing Artwork for Submission
Animation / Video
- Submit a flash drive with .mp4 and HD QuickTime formats.
Book Arts (Fine Binding / Artist Books)
- All pieces will be displayed under glass cases.
- The artist may instruct the handlers on which spread to display.
- Any installation instruction must be noted at time of submission.
2D Media (Drawing / Graphic Design / Painting / Printmaking / Photography)
- Aim for two-dimensional work to be framed (limited free frames and mat boards available on the second floor of the art building)
- Unframed work on paper may be displayed with magnets or clips.
3D Media (Ceramics / Fiber Arts / Sculpture / Jewelry / Metals)
- All hardware needed for installation must be attached to the work at time of submission.
- Artist may instruct the handlers on how the work should be displayed (wall or case).
- Small works likely to be displayed on a vitrine or encased pedestal.
Painting
- Works on canvas must have wire affixed for hanging.
Artwork Pick Up
Unselected work must be picked up on April 7 or April 8, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Selected work must be picked up on April 23 or April 24, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Artwork must be picked up by these dates.
